Jungle Boss Homestay

The villas were comfortable and really clean, and the breakfasts, especially the Pho, were great. Phong and Huong were wonderful hosts. It’s a bit away from the main town, but I thought it was well worth it. When we got caught in the rain outside town, the owners came out to pick us up. They were so hospitable that I’d stay here again next time I’m here.

The water pressure was the big problem for us. When other people were using water, our shower barely worked or stopped altogether, so we went downstairs with towels to use the shared bathroom. Even that water cut out a couple of times. We spent an hour and a half trying to shower while waiting for it to come back. Other guests seemed to have better luck, and I may be wrong, but it didn’t look like many people were using water. When it did run, it was warm, so temperature wasn’t an issue. It’s a risk to be aware of. The place itself is cute, with a lovely view and some sweet dogs. We also did a trek through the same company and really enjoyed it. I’m just not sure I’d want to sleep here after a tiring trek. Staying the night before the trek was convenient, though, since it saved time in the morning.

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It’s a short walk off the main road, and the mountains around it make the place feel like a lovely local community. Great stay, I’d definitely recommend it.

The food at the restaurant was tasty, and breakfast was a good choice. For a quiet stay with a mountain view, I’d really recommend booking a room with a balcony.
