Karst Residence Phong Nha

We watched fireflies over the rice fields from our balcony at night, and the villas have outstanding views. It’s a peaceful, quiet place, and we stayed four nights. Next time we’ll stay a week. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the place was really clean, and the food was delicious. The hotel booked our cave tours, did our laundry, and picked us up from the airport, all at great prices. Getting into town costs 70,000 dong, which is very inexpensive. Phong Nha is a small town but has what you need, including a little bakery where we enjoyed buying sweet treats. If you’re coming to Vietnam for some peace and relaxation, put this place on your list.

The pool is lovely and the restaurant is excellent. The view from the pool is still beautiful, though new apartments have gone up to the side, so it looks a little different from the photos. The accommodation was clean and well maintained. It’s farther from town, which suited us for a quiet stay, and Grab or a motorbike can get you where you need to go.

We were sorry to leave after two nights here. The rice field views from the room and pool were amazing, and the pool at sunset, with the mountains in the distance and a cold drink in hand, was something else. It was the best pool view we’ve ever had. Our room was comfortable and very clean. The staff were friendly and incredibly helpful, and the restaurant food was good quality and good value. Drinks sold on site were also well priced. A short Grab ride gets you to Phong Nha, which has excellent restaurants. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic two-day stay and enjoyed exploring the caves of Ninh Binh. There’s a new property being built right next door, though, and the construction noise during working hours affected our stay. I still wouldn’t let that take away from the visit, but future guests should know about it.
