Mountain View Hotel

It was my second stay here, and I hope it won’t be my last. The area around town is so beautiful. This family run hotel has Wi-Fi and a simple, clean room and bathroom, and the family and kids are super friendly. At 180.000 vnd in 2025, it felt far too cheap for what you get. It’s right in the middle of town, with motorbike parking inside.

We found it was actually cheaper to get a double room in a nice hotel than two beds in a shared dorm, so it was an easy choice. The owner of mountain view house was welcoming and enthusiastic, and let us keep our bicycles inside. Breakfast was included in the room price and was delicious.

The room was very clean and comfortable, though the shower pressure was low. At a very cheap price compared with other places, you can get a private room right in the center of Phong Nha. The owner is kind and does his best to help, even with limited English. Bikes and motorbikes are also available to rent.

The location is on the main stretch, within a short walk of booking agencies, bus pickup and drop-off points, restaurants, other hostels, and party spots. You can join in or get away from the noise if you need to. The rooms are nice and clean, with air conditioning and reasonably comfortable beds. Each morning, our lovely host asked what we had planned and offered to arrange anything we wanted. Breakfast was simple, but tasty and filling.
