Phong Nha Escape Bungalow

The riverside setting is a real highlight. Escape Bungalow sits right by the Son River, with beautiful views throughout the day, green landscaping, and pleasant places to sit and relax. I also loved being able to use a stand-up paddleboard for free on the calm river in front of the property. It was a peaceful way to take in the natural surroundings. The rooms were clean, modern, well kept, and comfortable after days of exploring. I liked the simple, cozy design, which fits the setting. The host and staff were warm, attentive, and very helpful, sharing local tour and food suggestions and sorting out transport easily. For the accommodation, service, and experience, the price felt more than reasonable. The owners clearly care about their guests and the details. I had an amazing stay and would happily come back or recommend Escape Bungalow in Phong Nha.

We spent 12 lovely nights at Escape Bungalows, and manager Phuong really went out of her way to make sure we were happy. She helped arrange scooters and lent us extra helmets for the kids. Our children asked for banana pancakes at breakfast, which weren’t on hand, so she bought the ingredients and made sure they could have them over the following days. She’s friendly and lovely, and made us feel very welcome. The riverside views are beautiful, and having free paddleboards, with kayak paddles, was special. It’s a few minutes’ drive from town, but there are plenty of free pushbikes to borrow if you don’t have a scooter. We’d definitely stay again if we return to Phong Nha, hopefully, and recommend Escape Bungalows.

The hotel was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, and the price was good. Tien, the manager, was incredibly helpful with bike rentals, suggestions for places to visit, and arranging our onward transfer. The service was probably the best we’ve had in four months of traveling around Asia. A real gem in Phong Nha, and I’d visit again if I return.

The owner Tien made our time in Phong Nha such a pleasure. He picked us up from the bus station in the early hours and gave us great service throughout, helping us hire bikes and suggesting places to see in the area. The rooms were lovely and clean, and breakfast was delicious. I can’t recommend this place enough, and we’ll definitely be back, especially because of him.
