The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the facilities were clearly well looked after. What made our five days and four nights at Phong Nha Friendly Home especially memorable was how the owner and his family welcomed us and helped us plan our time. His local tips led us to places we might have missed, and he put us in touch with a dependable tour company for caves and other natural sights around Phong Nha. We also appreciated hearing about the local culture and attractions. The family’s warmth made us feel at home, and the stay went beyond what we expected.

The room was clean and roomy, and the price was great. I liked being a little away from the busy centre, which is only a 10-15 minute walk. The hosts were really welcoming and helped me with tours and local tips. They also run a small restaurant with simple, tasty, inexpensive Vietnamese food.

The family were so accommodating, especially when my partner was sick. It’s a lovely riverside homestay, with tasty restaurants very close by. Great price too, definitely recommend.

I loved the location. Bring a motorbike or bicycle and head to the botanical gardens or along the road to the phong nha cave, the scenery in both places is gorgeous. The rooms were nice and clean, with a very soft bed and a thick, good blanket. Breakfast was fine. The owner wasn’t around all the time, but he was there when I needed a ride to and from the bus, which was great. I asked the family living next to the bungalows for drinking water.

I’d read the reviews and booked, and I wasn’t concerned about breakfast being included. I rode my motorbike from Hoi An in heavy rain and got there around 2 PM, with the whole area pouring. When I opened my phone to go in, park the bike, and check in, I saw a message from the owner behaving badly. I still managed to book somewhere else.
