Thien Phu Hostel

The bus service cost 2,300,000 VND, a very high price for what we got. It fell far short of what was advertised and what I consider ethically acceptable. We were booked for a journey of about 9 hours, due to arrive late in the day, but during the trip we were told it would be midnight. We actually arrived at 1:00 AM, after 17 hours on the road with stops every 30 minutes. There was no planning or warning ahead of time. They dropped us in the middle of the night about 20 minutes outside the city, with no place to stay or ride into the center. We had no SIM card and no way to sort things out. Nobody explained what was happening, and sometimes they refused to answer. The treatment on the bus was awful too. We were treated like dogs, and someone even hit my leg because I accidentally stepped on the bus carpet. After leaving us stranded with no options, the agency didn't reply when we messaged to ask if they could help. I strongly advise avoiding this sleeper bus service entirely.

The woman who organized things in Phong Nha and her family were wonderful, and she made our holiday much easier. After we first booked a bus from Hanoï to phong nha through 12goasia, she helped us find a room and motorbike for a very good price. She also arranged a great caving trip at Ruc Mon cave, and can offer taxi rides to dang Hoi airport at a good price. She had everything we needed for a good holiday. Amazing service!

Our bus turned up three hours early, at about 4:10 am, and we hadn't booked a hostel. I called to ask for a private room for two, and a kind woman came over to help us check in and gave us a room. It looked just like the photos on hostelworld. Such good service, especially with our early, last minute arrival. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Linh was so nice and the service was really good, thank you! Cam on. Just keep in mind that a night bus may get in early. Ours left at 10 pm and was meant to reach ninh binh at 5 am, but we arrived at 3:30.
