A pretty good hostel with all the basics, plus a towel and free breakfast. It costs only 100k, so I'd choose it over Easy Tiger, though you can still hang out there. The receptionist is friendly and speaks with a very good accent.

I absolutely loved this place. It's a clean, quiet hostel with Aircon, locker's, free wifi, and free breakfast, a bread roll with eggs and coffee. The mattress was really comfortable, and the girl at reception spoke good English. She was helpful and explained what there was to do without taking a tour. For meeting people or partying, I went across the Street to the easy tiger. It's a hostel with a bar, but expensive to stay at, and easy to meet other people there.

Locally owned and operated, and you can keep your stay restful here, then go party at the Easy Tiger. If you're on a motorbike, they'll park it inside the homestay. The place is quiet and clean, with comfy beds and free breakfast, including coffee and sometimes other freebies depending on how busy it is. Definitely stay here! Support the locals!!

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. The girl at reception was so helpful. We were able to start our DIY cave tour early and avoid the other tours, because she gave us breakfast at 6 am instead of the usual 7.30. Some guests had left behind moscito repellent, and the staff gave it to us. It's not easy to buy in Town, and you need it for the botanical garden!!!

This isn't the Van Anh backpacker hostel/hotel anymore. It's now a Hanoi style Bun Cha restaurant serving the best BUN CHA in Phong Nha. If you don't want to stay in a crowded hostel, you can rent a room or bed here too. Talk to Hanh, the owner, who speaks very good English.
