Wyndham Garden Grandworld Phu Quoc Hotel

We stayed April 20th to 24th and had a wonderful time. The rooms were clean, attractive, and comfortable, and there was plenty for the kids, including a play area and mini-theater. The large pool, with its slides and rides, was a favorite. Food had lots of tasty choices, too. Wyndham Garden Grandworld Phu Quoc is right in Grand World, which made exploring convenient. I’d happily come back to this resort.

The private beach and pool were nice. I was traveling alone as a Western tourist, though, and this didn’t feel like the best fit since the hotel seems aimed at people who want an all-inclusive stay. Room service and the restaurant food were surprisingly below average. Maybe the buffet gets more attention, but I didn’t try it, so I can’t say. Fine for a few nights at most.

The children’s facilities, including the playground, are a real plus, and the place is tidy and well cared for. Staff were consistently polite and welcoming, and guests waiting were sometimes offered tasty drinks. Food was generally good, though its quality seemed to change with the chef on duty. Crowds are a problem, especially with so many tourists coming through each day. By about 9 PM, the pool was usually packed, and the water sometimes felt a little dirty. There was also loud Vietnamese music in several areas. It played at high volume in the kids club almost all the time, which became uncomfortable and even hurt my ears after a while. It’s a good family stay with plenty going for it, and with better crowd management, quieter music, and more attention to the pool, it could be a five-star place.

It’s handy for the entertainment areas, and the staff were very polite and helpful. Still, I got the feeling they treated kids differently, including the person at the pool slide and the room cleaners. I picked the place because of the water slide, but only one lane was operating, and it had limited hours. At breakfast there were eggs and sausage, but no beans in sauce. Beef was available every other day.
