Avoid this place. Room 101 looked nothing like the photos, with mould on the walls and ceiling, and all over the side of a wooden cupboard. We asked the woman working there for another room and explained the health concerns, including that I’m a healthcare professional. She replied that people in occupations like ours see diseases everywhere. She was nice enough, but clearly didn’t understand the health risks of mould. She said the room was in that condition because it hadn’t been renovated. I saw little sign that other rooms had been renovated either, and the guest opposite us also complained about mould. We stayed one night, then looked for somewhere else. Catfish hotel.

The hostess was so hospitable and gave amazing service, which made this a great place for solo travelers. Rooms are spacious and clean, and she’ll clean daily if you leave your room. The bathrooms are good too, and the hotel has everything you need. Food nearby is expensive and places close during rain, so you can ask her to cook a three course meal for 40k-60k. She’ll bring a big gallon of water to your room for 10k, or squeeze fresh orange juice for 15k 🤩🙏🏻. I was sick for a couple of days, and she even drove me to the pharmacy on her bike and waited while I got takeaway food. The area is peaceful, clean, and quiet, a nice spot to sit outside with coffee and a cigarette. khelm beach and sun town are nearby, and other islands are close if you book a snorkeling tour. There aren’t many Grab delivery drivers or bike drivers, which isn’t ideal when you’re traveling alone and prefer a bike over a car. Grab takeaway is expensive too, so if you’re sick and can’t go out, order from the hostess 🙏🏻. I had an amazing stay. Hopefully next time I won’t be sick and can explore phu quoc more. I’ll definitely stay here again!
