Bauhinia Resort Phu Quoc

The breakfast buffet kept us happy every morning, with omelets, banh mi, sausage, bacon, pho, fruit, fresh juice, coffee, and plenty more. Our room and the pool were both perfect, and Min and Dana at the front desk were so helpful I can’t say enough good things about them. It was a lovely week of relaxing, and we didn’t want to leave. While we’re still on the island, we’ll stop by just to say hi.

Book a bungalow if you can. The pool is wonderfully relaxing, and breakfast is fabulous. They also have food, a spa, and laundry available. The staff are some of the best in Phu Quoc, and everything was clean, lovely, and easy to get to. A real hidden gem in this busy city. We’ll be back!

A 10-minute walk gets you to the nearest beach, and the street has two lovely family restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s a cozy, pleasant place if you want somewhere simple and a little cheaper, especially if you can stay in one of the little bungalow houses. It is rather old, though, and could use a refresh. The bed linen and towels were very faded and due for replacement.

It may be relatively cheap, but the rooms and facilities were awful. The furniture was crude, the bathroom felt prehistoric, and the room itself was dreadful. At check-in, the receptionist was no help at all. My twin-room request through Booking.com wasn’t honored, and no alternative was offered. I’d also asked for a second room near the first one, but it was on another floor. Internet was out for hours on arrival day, with no apology, compensation, or update. We had to call and then go to reception in person to find out what was happening. On our last day, the internet went out again. I’m not coming back.
