This was one of my worst travel experiences. I booked through Agoda and the reservation showed as confirmed, but when I contacted the property beforehand, they said it wasn't confirmed. After a few attempts to sort it out, they stopped answering my calls. We still went there, hoping it was a mix-up, only to find other guests having the same problem. It seemed like a pattern, not a one-off. The property is run by a man from Africa named Jonty, along with a local elderly man and woman. Jonty was the only one who understood English, so communication went through him. I heard him tell the others not to answer calls from guests trying to confirm bookings. That felt deeply unprofessional. Getting there is difficult. The place is remote, and Grab or taxis are hard to find. Since they initially denied our booking when we arrived, we were stranded without an easy way back to the city. We waited nearly two hours before they finally gave us a room, not because they properly resolved anything, but because we had no practical alternative. At first glance, the room seemed acceptable, but then the problems added up. There were no complimentary water bottles or glasses. When we asked, staff said casually that they were understaffed. There's no proper front desk, the property is locked up by 11 PM, and the common areas, including the dining space, are dark at night. Management leaves in the evening, so guests are basically on their own. Animals in the room were the most disturbing part. On the first night, I reported it and the lady texted that it was a harmless “friendly pet.” That's unacceptable in guest accommodation. When I raised it again the next day, she said there was nothing she could do. The elderly male manager was particularly rude. I found rat droppings inside the mosquito net and reported it. Instead of checking the room, he dismissively asked me to send pictures because he and the lady were busy drinking beer and having dinner. I've never seen managers at the property sitting and feasting while ignoring a hygiene concern. It was shocking and showed no regard for guest safety. We had a 5 AM flight, so the evening before we asked reception to arrange a cab. With the communication problems, the message wasn't passed along properly and nobody could clearly confirm if a cab was booked. We didn't want to risk missing our flight, so we wisely scheduled a Grab ride ahead of time, which is frankly the most reliable way to get transport from this remote place. In the morning, the property's cab driver showed up anyway, argued aggressively, and demanded money. He was blocking our way and wouldn't let us leave. To avoid more confrontation, and because we felt genuinely uncomfortable, we gave him 50,000 VND for fuel and effort. The situation was unsettling and a bit frightening. Other problems included poor maintenance, subpar food, a beach that wasn't clean or as advertised, and online photos that were highly misleading compared with reality. On paper it may look attractive for the price, but the stress, poor hygiene, unprofessionalism, safety concerns, and communication barriers made it absolutely not worth it. I strongly recommend avoiding this property unless you're prepared for serious inconvenience and frustration.

The land and the bungalows are lovely, and at about €40 per night the beachfront setting is excellent value. The bungalows have comfortable beds, mosquito nets, and pleasant outdoor bathrooms, though the tub didn't work and hot water was inconsistent. The room was cleaned only when requested, and even then not consistently. Our stay had frequent evening blackouts, and with no generator, power surges when electricity came back damaged some of our devices. The beach is beautiful, quiet, and undeveloped, with a peaceful inlet and sandbank. Bungalows sit just behind the shore, so you can hear the water when you wake. The inland gardens, orchids, and maze add charm. There was some construction, but it wasn't disruptive. High tide sometimes leaves a shallow “moat” around the bungalows, a minor nuisance. It's very secluded, so you'll need a moto unless you plan to stay put. Most places are about 40 minutes away, except Rory’s Beach Bar and the small town 2-3 km north. Staff were kind but stretched thin and didn't have much support. Their English was limited, so WhatsApp or translation was essential. We often had to look for someone when we needed towels or room service. The laundry service dyed our clothes yellow, though they didn't charge us. The manager or owner was around but not actively involved, leaving the staff to manage on their own. Evenings at the restaurant were dark and lacking atmosphere because of the power cuts and poor lighting. Food and drinks were expensive for the quality, and with so few kitchen staff, dishes came out randomly and after long waits. We ate elsewhere after the first night. Rory’s Beach Bar and the nearby town, with good phở, were alternatives. They did provide free paddle boards because electric-powered activities couldn't run during the outages. There are fun extras like pig racing, a maze, a driving range, and a new glamping structure under construction, but they feel less pressing than the basic service and hospitality needs. This place has extraordinary land and lovely bungalows, and with real improvements to service, reliable electricity, communication, and dining, it could become a standout. I'd gladly return if those basics were strengthened.

The bungalow had everything I needed, and the setting is lovely and quiet. The food menu looked fine, but for all 3 days we were there, 90% of it wasn't available. That was a shame since I really wanted something besides seafood for once. There was nobody at the bar either, so you had to go find a staff member, which was frustrating, especially when sitting at the end of the pier. Grab doesn't recognize the location yet, so you have to set the pin yourself, and finding Grab drivers on this side of the island is basically impossible. It's a wonderful spot with great bungalows, but the food and bar service need major improvement. I can't wait to come back and hopefully get the pork.

That view is lovely, but the place felt like it was falling into serious disrepair. The staff were friendly, though they seemed stretched too thin. During my 10-night stay, my room barely got cleaned, even after I asked a couple of times. I eventually gave up. Breakfast was the same basic eggs and noodles each day. And the sea here isn't really swimmable: it's knee-deep, muddy, and constantly smells of sewage, so you have to go elsewhere for a swim.

It’s a quiet spot with direct beach access, and the location has a lot going for it. The beach itself isn’t good for swimming, though, so you’ll need to drive to another one. The property seems to be in the middle of changes and short on staff, which shows in the upkeep. Our room wasn’t very clean, and housekeeping had to be requested. With better maintenance and more staff, this place could make much more of its location.
