Breakfast was great every morning, with a good range of tasty options. The hotel is in a peaceful area close to Sunset Town, and we appreciated the beach shuttle. Staff were kind, friendly and always willing to help. They arranged an airport transfer for the same price as Grab, and renting a scooter through the hotel was completely straightforward. I didn’t need to worry about anything, and returning it was as simple as leaving the keys at reception. Excellent service, and I truly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. We were extremely satisfied.

The food was delicious and good quality, and the whole place was spotless, from the comfortable rooms to the shared areas. At Dad Resort, Phu Quoc, the front office staff and buggy drivers stood out for being sweet, friendly and helpful throughout. Their hospitality made us feel welcome and cared for. Great work by the whole team. We highly recommend the resort and would gladly stay again.

The rooms are spacious, with nice balconies looking into lush gardens full of mango trees and other plants. The pool is huge and peaceful, and the hotel feels like a quiet oasis for the price, about £40 a night. It’s tucked away from the main tourist spots, which may be a blessing since Sunset Town and the nearby town feel very fake. The beach nearby is beautiful but full of rubbish, which is a pity, and there are hardly any restaurants close by. The hotel restaurant is overpriced, with okay food and chaotic service. Still, at that rate there isn’t too much to complain about, and I’d recommend it overall.

The gardens were lovely and clearly well cared for, and breakfast was acceptable, though the hot food didn’t appeal to me much. The rest of the stay was a serious disappointment. This was the dirtiest hotel stay we’ve had in Southeast Asia, and cleanliness matters most to me. I spent roughly two hours disinfecting our room after we arrived. I told the hotel, but got only an apology, with no compensation offered even when I asked. It made sense once I saw how housekeeping worked: the staff seemed to spend about five minutes on the whole room, including changing towels. The toilet was never cleaned during our stay, and there wasn’t a toilet brush. Ants were common, and little geckos got in through gaps around the doors and windows. The pool looked nice from a distance, but the water was cloudy with particles. There was only a tap for rinsing off, no proper shower. We also found the hotel shuttle’s “Sao Beach” unusable. We went once briefly, and it looked like a rubbish dump. Khem Beach was much better as an alternative; a taxi there and back was about €5. There’s no room safe, which I hadn’t expected at a four-star hotel. Management really needs to check the daily cleaning. We wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it because of the hygiene problems.
