Cay Sao Phu Quoc

It’s such a peaceful place, good for the soul. Everything is clean, green, and beautiful. They made me a fresh coconut from one of the palms, which was awesome. It’s also the one place on the island where I found coconut milk for coffee. Thank you. ❤️❤️❤️

The small beach isn’t ideal for swimming, so I’d rent a motorbike to explore other parts of the island. They offer automatics for 180,000 VND and semi-automatics for 120,000 VND. The pool is well kept and a nice way to cool down on a hot day, and Cay Sao Beach Resort makes a good base for visiting other spots. I stayed one night and found it peaceful and refreshing. It’s on the east side, away from the busy tourist streets, so it suits anyone after quiet and calm. If you want more activity, it may not be the right fit. The stilted bungalows were comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and the resort and gardens were cleaned daily. There are dining options, though my dinner was a bit disappointing, perhaps because I picked the wrong dish. I like spicy food, and they didn’t really have that. I’d recommend the resort to someone looking for a relaxing stay in a beautiful setting.

If a quiet getaway is what you’re after, this family run resort is a good fit. The people were friendly and attentive, and the cute bungalows have fridges and balconies facing the sea. There’s a nice pool beside a grassy area, and the restaurant serves good quality food, though it doesn’t have wine. Try the pancakes and egg coffee at breakfast. Swimming in the ocean wasn’t great because of the slimy rocks. The resort rents scooters, which you’ll want if you’re heading to OhLang beach on the west coast. There aren’t any grocery shops nearby. I’d go back.

The Mi soup Rau was so good, and the food in general was great with very reasonable prices. It’s a lovely family run resort, with clean, well-equipped bungalows and nice grounds where you can just relax. The pool and restaurant area have a cute, open-air island feel. I came for a few days away from the main city, and loved it so much they were able to fit in a third day at the last minute. They can also help arrange tours and bookings. Highly recommend.
