Our lunch was great. The Bahn mi bread had a lovely crunch outside and was soft inside, with the fillings in just the right amounts. The steak and bread was good too. Duc, our waiter, was welcoming and friendly. It was a little hot indoors, but not too bad.

The food was decent, but the portion was small for the price. Service was poor too. I waited half an hour because the staff took my order to another table, and nobody even apologized. I won’t be coming back.

The owners are so lovely that we ended up building a sweet relationship with them during our time there. We ate at Hai Bot on six of the seven days we were in Phu Quoc. The prices are very reasonable, there’s just the right amount of choice, and the fresh coconuts are delicious. My favourites were the beef stir-fried macaroni and Vietnamese-style beef steak. They’re very accommodating, so you can ask if you want something that isn’t on the menu. The food was the best I’ve had since arriving in Vietnam. Highly recommend!
