Long Mountain Be Home 5 Resort

I booked Long Mountain Resort through Agoda in July and paid in full months ahead because Phu Quoc gets extremely busy over Christmas. When we arrived on December 26, the resort said it was full and wouldn’t honor our reservation. They blamed Agoda, but Agoda later confirmed there had been no message from Long Mountain Resort saying it was closed or booked up before we made the reservation. This was the hotel’s fault. Since it was December 26, reasonable rooms were gone. The options left were filthy red-light hotels or luxury places charging around $2,000 a night. Then the woman running Long Mountain Resort tried to send us to a friend’s hotel, saying it had a beachfront bungalow. Its ratings were terrible, around 6.0 on both Agoda and Google, so I was concerned, especially since we were traveling with children and visiting relatives. My husband checked it out and found it awful. There was no beachfront bungalow, and it wasn’t suitable for children or a family. We turned it down. Because of the resort’s mistake, we spent four hours walking around looking for somewhere to stay and ended up paying double for a room elsewhere. It was stressful and exhausting, and completely avoidable. The woman took no responsibility, never apologized, and kept blaming Agoda while looking visibly annoyed, as though we were the problem. Agoda reimbursed us, but the hotel never apologized, even though the owner had my WhatsApp contact and could message me through Agoda. This felt like a bait-and-switch and left our family in a terrible situation during one of the busiest times of year. I would never trust this business, especially with children or during peak season. Stay far away. One star is generous.

We booked two rooms here five months ahead, but when we arrived they said they were sold out and had no rooms for us. The woman seemed annoyed that we were there, and the customer service was terrible. It isn’t a nice place anyway. There are plenty of better places, like Duy gnoc.

The bungalows sit in gardens around a large pool. Staff were kind and efficient, and they offer laundry, scooter hire, and food delivery. Rooms have air conditioning, a kettle, TV, and a small fridge. There’s also a shared kitchen for self-catering near the accommodation. It’s about a ten-minute walk to the village street, then another five minutes to the main coastal road. Recommended.

I ended up staying two weeks longer because I liked it so much. The grounds are lovely and the pool is great, with a quiet setting away from the main road. The rooms are simple but clean, with hot water, good air conditioning, and a table with two chairs outside. Housekeeping is included, and reception is always reachable on WhatsApp if you need something.
