Nghi Lan Hotel

We stayed four days with my partner. On arrival there was a problem: they told us they had no room, even though we'd booked. I'd recommend calling the hotel before you get there. We nearly had to find somewhere else, but they eventually gave us a room. Aside from that, everything was perfect. I really liked the room, which was big and clean. The hotel is far from everything, but they rent bikes, which is great for exploring the island. It's a nice hotel for a very good price.

The owner was lovely, and the place felt comfortable and welcoming.

Breakfast outdoors at a table among the trees was a lovely touch. The grounds are green and cared for, with little seating spots, and the rooms are clean. We stayed in January and found it genuinely quiet and peaceful, an easy place to settle in and feel at home. There's a fully equipped shared kitchen with dishes, which is handy for a longer stay. A ginger cat plays in the courtyard and adds to the cozy feel. In the evenings, you can watch the fireworks from the grounds without leaving your room. The owners and staff were friendly and attentive. It feels like a small, restful place for a holiday or a longer visit.

The location worked well for us, between many attractions, and having our own car made it easy to get around. I stayed three nights and got to check in early. There was talk at first of an extra charge, but they said they would just round up the price. After the second night, I saw that the linens and towels had been changed and the room cleaned. The room was nicely designed and had everything listed, including a coffee table, dressing table, clothes rack, hairdryer, and electric kettle. The price was similar to what you'd pay on the mainland. Out front, there's a spacious green yard with benches, and a yellow cat and several kittens often lounge there.
