Antares Apartment Phu Quoc Apartment hotel

The room was clean, modern, and looked just like the photos, so I don’t have much to complain about there. The problem was the location and how the place was run. The nearby buildings are all empty, with no shops or restaurants and no real atmosphere. It feels like a ghost town, far from anywhere lively, so we had to take a taxi whenever we wanted to go out. The hotel rents scooters, but only for five days or longer. For a one to four day stay, you have to pay for five days or keep taking taxis. I’ve stayed in many hotels around Vietnam and haven’t come across that before. Staff were the least customer-friendly we encountered on the trip. They didn’t help us find somewhere else to rent a scooter, and came to our room 20 minutes before checkout to tell us to leave. It felt unpleasant. People might be friendly on their own time, but while working they weren’t helpful. The nightly rate was relatively high, yet breakfast wasn’t included. With nowhere nearby to eat, you’re pushed to eat at the hotel or take a taxi to a restaurant each time, which quickly gets inconvenient and expensive. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel or the area. It costs too much for a remote location, poor service, and little convenience.

Our two-bedroom apartment was clean and roomy, and both bathrooms had jacuzzi tubs. They also offer a free buggy ride to nearby cafes and the beach, with pickup when you’re ready to return. Each guest gets one complimentary laundry set, which was a nice extra. It’s a little far from the main attractions, but easy enough to reach by Grab. There are quite a few empty shop lots nearby, so it’s quiet and works well if you want to stay away from crowds. Also, avoid going to Phu Quoc in low season, between May to Oct.

What made our visit special was how kind and welcoming the hotel managers were. They were always around to help, whether we needed local attraction suggestions, transport arranged, or just wanted to make sure we were comfortable. The management team made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived and went out of their way to make the stay pleasant. Our apartment was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. It really felt like a home away from home. The location was great too, with nearby restaurants, shops, and lovely beaches easy to reach. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay, and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Phu Quoc.

The free transfer was a nice perk, and the beach isn’t far away. It’s a new hotel, with spacious rooms, very comfortable beds, and everything spotlessly clean. One drawback is that many of the surrounding buildings are still vacant, which takes away from the atmosphere. It’s a great place for modern comfort and easy beach access, and should be even better when the area develops.
