Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc

My checkout was frustrating too. I had a flight to catch, but Mr. Cyrus took a long time to clear the room, return my security deposit, and finish the process. After problems at another Radisson property, I’d already sent many emails to the support team, head office, and Radisson Phu Quoc, but replies take ages and the service seems forgotten. I’ve stayed at two Radisson properties in Vietnam and had nearly the same problems at both. The receptionists were inefficient and undertrained, and there was a big language barrier. A month ahead, I emailed the property to request early check-in, one twin room, and one king room, preferably on the same floor. We were given two king rooms instead. We arrived early and asked if they could put our luggage in the rooms and have them ready, but that wasn’t done either. They said the rooms would only be available at 2 pm. Just two receptionists were checking in a large crowd, so the queue moved very slowly. I missed my restaurant lunch reservation, and my driver couldn’t drop us off. When we returned in the evening, our request still hadn’t been met. Extremely disappointing :(

The attentive staff were quick to help, and I really liked the food. There was a fantastic, very generous breakfast and an extraordinary à la carte restaurant. The menu was varied and high quality, with Vietnamese, Indian, and European dishes among what we tried.

One thing that made beach time harder was that many guests, mostly russians, put towels on sunbeds early and then didn’t use them, leaving others struggling to find a place. Even so, I had a very enjoyable stay at the Radisson Blu Phu Quoc. The hotel was clean and well kept, the beach was beautiful, and breakfast had a great range of high-quality food.

The main problem was how easily outside noise came through the windows. They aren’t soundproof, so ask which way your room faces. On the GranWorld side, a club plays very loud music late into the night, making it hard to sleep. We got lucky and changed rooms, though we had to put up with the noise on our first night. The hotel called the club, but they were rude and ignored the requests. We had a large, comfortable two-room apartment, and the place was clean. We received fruit on two of our four days. I guess after the room change they lost track of the premium guests. The resort itself is great, with a private beach, spa, and gym. Free buggy rides go to GranWorld, and buses to the night market in Phu Quoc center are available if booked ahead. Ask about the airport transfer, which they offer for free. Breakfast was tasty and varied. There are two restaurants: one is bigger and always busy, while the smaller one has less variety but still enough options. Staff were very attentive, and overall we had a good experience.
