Sea Star Resort Phu Quoc

Every staff member we dealt with, from reception to the hotel and bar staff to housekeeping, was warm and friendly. They were quick to respond on fb messanger and by phone, which was reassuring when I needed small confirmations before flying in. Our bungalow was quiet and peaceful, with a little sitting area outside to relax. Just beyond the resort there's everything you need and a lively atmosphere, while the beach itself was clean and calming. It rained every day during our visit, but the umbrellas thoughtfully provided for guests saved us several times. The room was tidy and clean, and breakfast had lots of tasty options. I couldn't have asked for a better stay. One of my best so far, with no cons, and I'd highly recommend it.

The resort is beautiful, and the staff were helpful and cordial. Breakfast was nice, and although the beach is small, it's lovely. Stores and marts are nearby, and the airport pickup and drop-off were excellent. On Sundays and Wednesdays there's live music and a beautiful sunset. There were mosquitoes and cockroaches in my room, and the curtains in the Beachfront Bunglows were stained and made the room look dirty. The facilities are old and need a facelift. Be careful around the massage girls near the Sea Star Restro Bar. While I was getting a massage, one of them stole a 100 dollar bill from my wallet.

The beach setup was lovely, with plenty of sundecks under the trees and water pipes to rinse your body and feet throughout. We had two deluxe rooms for 3 nights. The rooms were big, the shower was spacious and separated from the toilet and sink by glass, and the AC worked well enough. Umbrellas and slippers were provided, though we didn't use them. There was a safe, but it used a key rather than a pin. We enjoyed being right on the beach, close to restaurants and shops, and the buffet breakfast was tasty and sufficient. The BBQ dinner for two at VND499,000 was delicious and fed all four of us nicely. Staff were friendly enough. Before check-in, I emailed three times over several days because I was travelling with my senior parents and wanted to be sure our Trip.com bookings were confirmed. The resort didn't reply. I finally found them on Facebook and got confirmation, but the silence had already caused a lot of anxiety. The shower area was moldy and unclean, and the water pressure wasn't strong enough.

A great place for the price, and the location is mint. The beach is lovely with shade from the coco palms, and the sunsets are awesome. Breakfast was pretty standard for Vietnam. I'd definitely come back.
