King Hotel

The central location is a real plus, and the price felt like good value. The hotel seems new and the room was kept in good shape. It was also so spacious, with decor that gave it a bit of a king-room feel.

The room was tiny, with just one small window, and the bed was incredibly uncomfortable. It was also filthy, with strange black drip marks on the walls. Some light switches were hanging dangerously out of the wall with wires exposed. The front desk staff were arrogant and rude. They accused us of using the towels to clean shoes and tried to charge extra, although the towels weren't damaged at all. The hotel was empty, so it felt like they were looking for ways to get more money from whoever showed up. I've stayed in lots of places in Vietnam over the years, and this was by far my worst experience. There are much nicer places for the same price.

The air-conditioner worked well and kept the room cool, and there’s plenty of space to park a vehicle. There’s also a nearby shop with delicious Mi Quang. The room and toilet weren't very clean, though, and the toilet had no window or ventilation, so it stayed humid. The plugs in the room were mounted high up, which made charging our phones inconvenient.

The room was generally ordinary, and they don't provide daily cleaning. What bothered me was the lack of privacy: I caught a staff member sneaking around outside the room opposite mine for some reason. When he noticed me, he walked away without explaining anything. I was really annoyed by his attitude.
