FLC Grand Hotel Quy Nhon

There’s almost nothing around the property, no shops, restaurants, or much sign of life. Even leaving was awkward because taxis couldn’t simply enter to pick us up. We had to ask permission for the taxi to come in, which made us feel strangely trapped. The beach was strewn with trash and debris, far from the relaxing beachfront setting we expected. The building we were moved to for half our stay looked barely open, with closed-off sections, a deteriorated, eerie feel, and almost no other guests. It felt like a deserted half-shut hotel, more like a prison in a ghost town than an operating place. We only found out at the last minute, just before arrival, that the hotel was moving our reservation to another building because of “construction.” They hadn’t made clear that we’d spend half the stay in what looked and felt abandoned. When we pointed out the obvious problems, staff repeatedly tried to gaslight us into thinking everything was normal and fully operational. Our concerns were brushed aside. From start to finish, the experience felt misleading, uncomfortable, and badly handled. Switching guests to an abandoned-looking building at the last minute, then pretending there was nothing wrong, is completely unacceptable. I’d strongly advise travelers to think twice before booking.

The lobby glass walls and lawn still looked a little unfinished, perhaps because of the previous storm. The walk from the lobby to the parking lot was also inconvenient: it’s sunny and far, and the electric buggy service wasn’t very efficient. Guests sometimes had to walk to their cars, which is hard for families with older people or young children. Still, we had a very good stay at FLC Grand Hotel Quy Nhon during the recent Tet holiday. The rooms were spacious and suited a family vacation, and the reception and other staff were enthusiastic, polite, and supportive throughout. My parents and children especially felt comfortable and satisfied. It remains a worthwhile destination in Quy Nhon for families. Better post-storm upkeep and more helpful transport around the property would make the experience more complete.

The parking could be cleaner and better organized, and adding more electric carts at busy times might prevent long waits and congestion. Those are the main improvements I’d suggest. FLC Quy Nhon Beach & Golf Resort has a lovely seaside setting, with open, private spaces that feel far from everyday crowds. Waking to the sea breeze and broad greenery was naturally calming. Staff were generally friendly, responsive, and professional. One restaurant chef was a real quiet star: when the children asked for fresh milk, he cheerfully brought it over himself. That warm, genuine gesture stuck with me more than a fancy buffet. It’s a worthwhile option for families who want room to spread out and friendly service :)

The hotel itself is beautiful, with spacious rooms, and its location is a bit away from the city center but close to Ky Co, the fishing village, and the sand dunes. The service, though, was poor, and I won’t be coming back. My family stayed for two nights, April 29th and 30th. When we arrived, nobody was there to help unload the car. We waited until a staff member eventually came over in an electric cart to assist us. Breakfast was disappointing too. My 8-year-old child went down first. I had given my name as the reservation holder, but staff checked and said it wasn’t my name, leaving the child waiting. If I’d arrived later, I don’t know how long my child would have been left there. I’ve stayed at many FLC hotels, and this was very poor service.
