Getting into the sea was the best part, with clear, beautiful water right in front of my balcony. The hotel is modern and well located, and the staff were very helpful. They found me a regular bicycle to rent, which isn’t easy on an island where everyone uses motorbikes. They also shared some good tips and were happy to help with my requests.

I stayed at Chanky Hotel Phú Quý from May 2-4. It’s a good value, fairly new and clean place for a visit to the island, though it feels more like a guesthouse than a big hotel. My Deluxe Room cost 650,000 VND a night. It was bright, with big windows and a partial sea view, plus natural light from two sides. There were plenty of power outlets, a mini-bar, and two complimentary bottles of water each day. The washbasin was spacious, but the shower and toilet shared one space without a divider. Hot water was a little inconsistent. The hallway lights were quite bright at night, which might bother light sleepers. The hotel is about 1.5km from the Phú Quý port, where ferries from Phan Thiết arrive, with other guesthouses and local amenities nearby. There’s an elevator, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I rented a motorbike right there for 150K per day, which made exploring convenient. One small rental issue: the fuel gauge didn’t work, so keep an eye on the fuel. For the price, I found the place clean and convenient, especially being close to the ferry pier.
