Sapa Diamond Hotel

The staff were polite and accommodating, but that was the only positive part of our stay. The place was old and outdated, the shower was broken, and we had a brownout. It looked nothing like the pictures, and we felt we'd been persuaded by fake reviews. What we saw online and what we got were worlds apart. Dirty, old, ugly, and definitely not worth it.

The staff made me feel welcome the whole time, from check-in through departure. They were warm, attentive, and really helpful. I found the rooms clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, a relaxing place to come back to after exploring. The location was ideal, with easy access to the town center and breathtaking mountain views. I had a fantastic stay at Sapa Diamond Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sapa.

The room fridge didn't work, and the AC wasn't effective. Our street-facing room also had a poor view, a balcony door that wouldn't close properly, and traffic noise all night from the busy road. We're seniors and couldn't sleep because it was so noisy. The hotel was empty, but we were given that room. The breakfast buffet had NOTHING for vegans, even though we'd asked in advance for at least one vegan dish. There was a major language problem: the only woman who understood English was rarely at the front desk, and when she was there, she wasn't helpful and was rather rude. All in all, not a great experience. Not every room has a good view, some face the noisy highway too.

We booked 3 nights and 4 days as a group of 8 friends. Two people in our group couldn't put up with the conditions and checked out after the first night. The rest of us stayed because we had already paid. The rooms smelled strongly of mould, the wallpaper was peeling, and the whole place felt unclean and poorly maintained. The bath towels were old and torn, and the towel holders and fittings were rusty. Management clearly doesn't look after the property or guests' comfort. A very bad experience, definitely not recommended.
