The valley views go on and on, and the place was quiet and peaceful. We stayed in the nest, though I think the regular bungalows would be worth it for the scenery too. A few thunderstorms passed through while we were there, and watching the rain and hearing the thunder was incredible. Getting around on foot isn't easy, but Grab worked well for me, and the hotel runs transfers to and from Sapa city at certain times. There's a small gym, a pool, and a kids club.

The daily ice cream from 2-4 pm turned out to be a highlight, creamy and really delicious. We also loved breakfast, especially the duck soup pho, which we'd recommend. Staff were warm and polite throughout, and the welcome had a lot of thoughtful touches. We spent two comfortable nights at Sapa Jade Hill Hotel after being pleasantly surprised by a free upgrade to a mountain-view room. It had a lovely outlook, a bathtub, and a cozy spot to relax. We were happy to stay in, read, and enjoy the complimentary local snacks, coffee, and tea. We'd gladly return to Sapa and stay again.

The herbal bath was lovely, though there wasn't enough hot water to fill the tub. Otherwise, I loved the place, with friendly staff and nice views. It's close enough to the city while still being peaceful. I'd definitely come back.

The staff were consistently polite, kind, and sincerely helpful, but operational problems and facilities that didn't work well had a big effect on our stay. We chose Sapa Jade Hill Resort during a ten-day trip in Vietnam as a rest between tough trekking days, expecting comfort, quiet, and eco-resort facilities. It didn't live up to that expectation. Our first room faced the road, where traffic and construction noise started before 7 a.m. It was freezing when we checked in because the heating hadn't been switched on despite the cold, damp weather. We got an extra heater only late that evening, after asking several times. Noise meant we had to move rooms and repack halfway through the stay. The advertised gym wasn't usable: it was very cold, partly open, and water was leaking through the ceiling. Breakfast prices also varied, with different amounts quoted on different days. Taken together, this didn't feel like an eco-lodge or a premium retreat.

After two days of trekking, we booked a night to treat ourselves. The room was lovely and smelled great, the pool was warm, and the restaurant food was excellent. I considered booking a massage, but decided against it after reading reviews that didn't seem good. I enjoyed the stay so much I wanted to add more nights.
