Silk Path Grand Sapa Resort & Spa

I loved how the hotel’s interiors bring in local character, especially the art and mosaic tiling. The architecture, landscaping, and views made the place feel almost magical, and the rooms were immaculate, with excellent housekeeping and service twice a day. Alissa, the Customer Ambassador, and the General Manager were especially warm and attentive, and the whole team made me feel welcome. Breakfast had plenty of variety for different tastes. Downtown was only a few minutes away by car, and walking was an option too. Grab taxis were easy to find. I had a beautiful, comfortable stay at Silk Path Hotel and would recommend it.

The cold weather exposed the main problem: spaces that should have been heated weren’t. The cafe wasn’t warmed up before lunch, the massage rooms were chilly, and the kids room was below freezing. That seems like an easy thing to fix. The management staff were particularly amazing, though, and I had a great time in a beautiful town. The hotel itself is gorgeous, built and designed to a very high standard. The food was really good, especially breakfast. The setting is stunning, but in winter mist can hide the view completely. It felt magical in the fog, though we only had one day when we could see much.

We spent New Year’s Eve here with our son, using two rooms. The resort had arranged special events, and our complimentary afternoon tea was quite good. The staff were helpful and courteous, and lunch and dinner were available at the restaurants. One suggestion: replace the plastic drinking water bottles in the rooms with glass ones, which would be more environmentally friendly. It’s a large luxury property of around 100 rooms, a short drive from Sapa city centre. Each room has a large balcony, and the resort also has gardens, a fountain, an indoor pool, gym, spa, and several restaurants. The views are lovely when it isn’t foggy, and there are plenty of photo-worthy spots. There’s a free shuttle into town. Walking isn’t very convenient, though Grab cars are easy to get. Our rooms were spacious and had the usual amenities. Toiletries, linens, and slippers were good quality, and the Wi-Fi was very fast throughout. Breakfast was included and lavish, with local, Chinese, and Continental food, plus fruit, juice, cereals, breads, fried rice, noodles, sushi, and various meats. Live stations served pho, eggs, crepes, and local dishes such as rice rolls nonstop. There was some noise at times from the road beside the property and nearby construction, but it wasn’t too concerning. Overall, I’d highly recommend the resort for a Sapa stay.

The hotel shuttle runs every hour and made it easy to get into the city for free. We also liked Olivia, the Italian restaurant, which had good food and kid-friendly options. The staff were friendly and greeted everyone with a smile. We loved staying at Silkpath Sapa. It was clean, surrounded by beautiful scenery, and had a heated pool. Breakfast was amazing, with lots of vegetarian choices. We’d definitely return.
