Cua Dong Luxury Hotel

The rooms were spacious, but the plastic left on the mattress made noise whenever I moved, and the bed itself wasn't comfortable. Breakfast wasn't fresh, either. For the price, the hotel's location and quality don't add up, and calling it “Luxury” is a stretch. At the convention, the large stage screen was a plus and the price was low. The hall, though, smelled awful, like feet, and the carpet was very dirty. I'm surprised the team didn't do anything about it.

There were no disposable slippers, which felt unhygienic. The toiletries weren't in the shower area either. A rack there would make them easier to reach.

I’m judging this as a five-star hotel because that’s how it presents itself. The welcome at reception was warm, with lots of smiles, useful information, and an offer to carry our bags. Our room looked beautiful, and the view over Vinh was excellent. The problems showed up after that. At lunch, we ordered two beef burgers in the hotel restaurant and got sandwiches with raw beef instead. We asked for the meat to be cooked more. My chocolate ice blend looked nothing like its picture and was basically chocolate milk. The pamphlet at check-in advertised the spa and indoor golf, but when we tried to go, we were told they were closed for construction. The sky bar was dirty at night, with used face masks on the lounge chairs. There were holes in the floor, and the music was YouTube ads that someone had forgotten to skip. Trash was left in the hallways, and staff moved it through the elevators during open hours. We put out the do not disturb sign on our last morning so we could pack and get ready to leave, but staff disturbed us twice before checkout. I had to ask them for five more minutes. I can understand small mistakes, but five-star prices should come with five-star quality.

I liked the breakfast service here. The location was convenient too, close to a mall, coffee shops, and a Japanese restaurant.
