The swimming at Le Life Resort was incredible, with snorkeling right from shore and coral and marine life close by. It’s a great spot if you’re looking to properly switch off, feeling a world away in the best sense. The restaurant was a real surprise, serving some of the best food we had at a resort in Vanuatu. Definitely order the Mauritian curry. The bar is well stocked too. The people running the place are the real highlight. From the minute we arrived, they were friendly, warm and welcoming. Nothing seemed to be a problem, and everything was handled with a smile. We’re already counting down until we can come back.

The bungalow was spacious and comfortable, and the resort’s direct beach access and relaxed atmosphere made it a lovely place to stay. We also liked being able to book tours there. The Blue Lagoon and other destinations were stunning, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. Dinner took a slow start on our first night, with a 1.5-hour wait, though the food was delicious. Tour booking was convenient, but after our hot spring and mud bath excursion we had to email the hotel to collect us, about an hour after the arranged pickup time. We also thought it was odd to be asked to choose dinner at 4:15 in the afternoon.

The outlook is lovely, and it’s a very quiet spot. The women at the counter were friendly and accommodating when we visited for lunch, though the food itself was average. It was also really hot under the roof in the outdoor dining area, which could do with fans. A male employee stopped me in the gift shop and demanded to know why I was there. Great location, but that interaction was uncomfortable.

I went to Le life Resort on my own with my two children and felt safe and very well cared for. The owners, staff and everyone running the place are absolutely lovely, and the location is amazing. We ate delicious food and received exceptional service. It’s one of the best places I’ve ever been. I’ll definitely return and would recommend it.

My kids loved Le Life most of all during our 16 nights in Vanuatu, even though we spent just two nights there. It’s a creative, artistic resort with a lively feel and owners and staff who clearly care about it. There are murals, plants for sale, a great gift shop and lots of tours and activities. Some resorts in Vanuatu feel tired, but Le Life feels fresh, cared for and alive. The kids played volleyball with about 15 staff, who really looked after them, and we spent time with cards and board games in the restaurant. People came and went, staff worked on new structures and other projects, and it all felt relaxed. They even held kava tastings each night. There was a bit of low-level chaos. A customer locked their keys in the car, and we watched a group try to get in for over an hour. A hanging pot plant once fell from the roof over an empty table. We’d ordered and paid for a fruit platter ahead of time, and staff asked us four times when we wanted it, but it never arrived. They refunded us without fuss. These things sound negative, but to me they were part of the relaxed, funky vibe. My first impression was that the place is very loved by the people who run it. The family bungalow is right on the water, with lots of space, comfy deck chairs and a beautiful breeze. It feels private despite the neighbouring bungalow, as the two are offset. The little beach outside felt secluded, and we had the natural pool or cove to ourselves for hours. The dogs are well loved, the trees are huge, and there were kingfishers and other birdlife. It’s down a long road at the far end of the island, so it feels a world away from town, but close enough for Blue Lagoon. We had perfect weather, with blue skies and no rain. The restaurant is nice too, with the best hand-cut chips, kids’ meals, banana pancakes and great smoothies. They made Kava as well. The white lotus feel and the random people, mostly Aussies, working there made me curious about their stories. We’re glad we stayed, and I’d recommend it to families.
