Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey's Hotel & Bungalows

The Friday Fia Fia night put on by the hotel staff was brilliant. They got everyone involved and did a great job. As we left, the restaurant team sang us a Samoan farewell song. It was personal and really moving, a perfect end to a fantastic week celebrating our 46th wedding anniversary. We ate at the restaurant every day, for breakfast and dinner, and never had a disappointing meal. There was plenty of variety on the menu, and the head chef often stopped by to chat and offered to make anything we fancied that wasn’t listed. Daniele and his team deserve a special mention for going out of their way to make us feel welcome and make sure we had what we needed. We felt special every time, with warm smiles and unbelievable service. All the staff throughout the Sheraton Hotel and restaurant were so friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. Our room was clean, the bed very comfortable, and the pool was lovely, inviting, and clean. Restaurant staff brought welcome refreshments while we relaxed by the pool. Thank you, you beautiful people, for a holiday we’ll remember.

Daniel, the Assistant Manager, went above and beyond to help us plan our stay and keep everything running smoothly. Chef Sukesh also made us a delicious Indian meal and kindly catered to my gluten-free needs. We’re very grateful to them both. The whole hotel team made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, and even sang us a song when we left. That was such a heartfelt, memorable send-off. We had a wonderful time visiting and touring Samoa. Seeing the island was eye-opening, and the warmth and happiness of the Samoan people made the trip even more special. Thanks for taking such good care of us. We’ll always remember our time here fondly. 🌺

I’d give it a 3.5 if half stars were an option. The room was comfortable, and we got upgraded to a bungalow with a small sitting area and a bath. The bed was comfy too, and the pool area is nice. I’d probably rate it higher as a Courtyard or Four Points, but it didn’t meet the Sheraton standard I expected. Breakfast was well below that standard too, with food from tins and the freezer. I don’t get why they serve tinned pineapple instead of fresh. The staff weren’t especially good or nice. You have to collect your own pool towels, then the security guard asks you to sign your room name but doesn’t give you a pen. At the back parking area, staff on break didn’t greet us as we drove through, even when we smiled and waved. That’s one of the hotel’s main entrances and exits. We’d agreed to a 1pm checkout, but at 11am they called and said checkout was now, making us feel we had to leave.

They went out of their way to make things work for us, from fitting in a last-minute reservation and arranging airport transfer to organizing taxis for excursions. They also provided breakfast and made an early check-in possible for my elderly mother. The staff were so friendly and dedicated throughout. Our room was spacious and had a great view of the wharf. Thanks especially to bartender Sosefina for an exceptional Espresso Martini, and to the breakfast, cleaning, and concierge teams for all their help. Highly recommend!
