The pool was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s very close to town, yet tucked away, and our room was nice. They helped us arrange a late check-in after our plane landed late. Breakfast was complimentary and really good, and the dinners we ordered there were always good too. At dinner they kept a mosquito coil lit at night, which helped keep the bugs away. Laundry was available for a reasonable price.

I had a deeply disappointing stay at Le Alaimoana on February 24th. We were greeted warmly on arrival and offered an upgrade, but the room itself was in a disgusting state. It smelled musty, the sheets and pillows had a stale odor, and the fridge reeked of fish. We also found ants and started getting flea bites. The bathroom light fixture made an extremely loud noise, and there was visible mess left on the kitchen bench by previous guests. It didn’t seem properly cleaned or maintained. We tried to contact the owner, but they weren’t available. The smell and conditions were unbearable, so we left that night. We were told Expedia would provide a full refund, but that didn’t happen. The owner had already taken the money from Expedia, and repeated attempts to contact her for a resolution got no reply. This was a nightmare. The property is presented as a 3-star accommodation, but in my view it should be rated 1 star at best. The cleanliness, maintenance and management made the stay frustrating and unpleasant. I’d strongly advise people to look elsewhere and avoid it.

The staff treated me like family from my first day until my last, from reception to the kitchen and housekeeping. I was scared when I first arrived in Samoa, but a lovely woman smiled and welcomed me. She must have noticed I was uncomfortable, because she tapped my shoulder and told me not to worry, that we were all family now and they’d take care of me and guide me with whatever I needed. Her name is Laila, and she became my dear friend, the first Samoan woman I befriended. Thank you so much, family, for looking after me. I’ll miss your smiles in the mornings and taking pictures with you all. I’m sad to leave, but next time I come back, I’ll stay with you again. My Lealaimoana family, thank you so much ♥️

We had a great stay and loved the people who helped us. The price is excellent, the location very convenient, and there’s a free continental breakfast each day, a pool and air conditioning. The staff did a fantastic job, and I’d recommend the place. Our one complaint is that we didn’t get the room shown in the advertisement. They said the website was out of date, so we got a standard room instead of the size we’d planned on. Make sure you confirm what you’re getting with the hotel.

The staff tried their best to help, and the room was clean with a comfortable bed. Parking is available, and it was quiet most nights. But the rooms aren’t soundproof and all face the reception, bar and pool. On my last night a loud group of young Americans arrived and partied and laughed late, close enough that it felt like they were in my room. I couldn’t sleep. It’s a bit far from the centre, with no real places to eat nearby, so having a vehicle helps. Breakfast was extremely basic: one, one and a half, or two slices of toast depending on the day, two eggs, a jar of Weetabix to help yourself to, and instant coffee. Wi-Fi costs extra, though I didn’t try it.
