Lynn's Getaway Accommodation

When we heard our mother had been rushed to hospital, my husband and I caught the next flight from Brisbane with no accommodation, car, or idea of the visiting hours and rules. We just wanted to get to her bedside. The hotel we first thought was closest was full, and they suggested Lynns Getaway. For three weeks, while our mother’s hospital stay and treatment kept changing, Karl and the team made sure we had one less thing to worry about. The service, smiles and care made us as comfortable as possible. Each time we extended our stay, the room charges got lower. We’d come home late at night to find our laundry, done that morning, waiting at the door. The breakfast always smelled divine as we left each morning, though we chose to make sure our mother got hers first at the hospital. From the beautiful entrance to the well-kept gardens when we left, the owners, workers, receptionist, cleaners and cook all left a lasting impression on us. Lynn’s feels like home. At breakfast, guests, family and staff gather around big tables in the main area, and everyone is invited to join in. It’s a family-run business in a handy Apia location, near the hospital and around a 25-minute walk or a short drive from the town centre. The family and staff go out of their way to make your Samoa stay memorable. There’s also a great cafe next door with excellent coffee and a handy supermarket, both part of the family business. Rosemarie, Karl, Charles and the rest of the staff will take good care of you.

We spent almost seven weeks here during our medical elective, from August to September. The place is lovely, especially around the pool, and the breakfast was always good. You can ask for anything you’d like. Karl and the team do an amazing job for their guests, and I recommend it. It has what you need at a reasonable price. One thing to keep in mind: if you’re a light sleeper and don’t want to wake early, you might want to bring earplugs.
