We didn't stay in the beach fales, but we did Nug's snorkelling tour, and it was easily the best snorkelling we did in Samoa. The boat ride to Nuusafe island was magical, with colourful reef to see. We had three snorkelling stops and time to explore the island, then finished with a burger and beer at their bar. Highly recommend it if you're staying nearby.

We stayed four nights after arriving in the late afternoon, and loved it. The location is handy, with waterfalls, walks, and the ocean trench all a short 10-20 minute drive away. Our hire scooter could manage the slightly uneven lava rock driveway, but we had to go down slowly. We had one of the beach fales. The other two were occupied, but ours still felt private. In the hot weather, rolling up the bottoms of the coverings lets a breeze through. We borrowed the dining area's broom and did a good job of managing the sand. There are no chargers in the fales, but there are high power points in the dining area and more at the bar. Sina made simple, delicious breakfast and dinner. David and Sina sometimes joined us at meals, which made things feel more personal. The two shower stalls and one outdoor shower have cold water, which was easy to adjust to in the heat and what you'd expect in a fale stay. The toilet stalls were clean, and the women's had small rubbish bins. Just ask for soap and toilet paper, as they sometimes go missing. Thanks to Sina, David, and Tala, who helps out on the property. We plan to come back next year!

Nugs, Dave, Sina, and Hilary were such friendly hosts, and the atmosphere was always great. Vaiula Beach is a little slice of paradise, with fun waves, crystal clear water, and stunning reefs. Can't wait to come back!

Breakfast was simple but satisfying, and Seena's dinners were delicious and generous. She's a fantastic chef. Nug and Hilary brought even more warmth with their hospitality at the bar. There are a couple of friendly dogs roaming around too. It's a lovely spot for an authentic Samoan stay, right by a beautiful beach lined with charming fales. There are lots of things to do, including snorkelling, surfing, paddle boarding, and a nearby cave pool. Everyone was incredibly welcoming.

We spent two nights in a waterfront fale. It's a beautiful location, with plenty to do nearby. The linen seemed much cleaner than at the other fales we stayed in, and the mosquito net had no holes, unlike nets we'd had elsewhere. The bathrooms were far cleaner and nicer than at the other places we stayed. Sina, who runs the fales, was lovely. She accommodated our vegan diet, and dinner was tasty, generous, and nutritious. Breakfast was simple bread and spreads, but delicious, so no complaints. We enjoyed getting to know other guests over meals. There's also a small bar on the edge of the property, which we didn't visit, though it's nice to have the option. I've read some reviews that seemed unreasonable. With a fale stay, expect basic facilities, including cold-water showers, and a bit of roughing it as part of the experience. It rained the whole time, but we could lower the tarps at the sides of the fale without any issues. Looking forward to going back for another lovely, authentic Samoan experience.
