The bungalows sit right on the beach, with lovely coastline views, and have a great outdoor shower for the climate. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The fresh food is tasty, though basic. There's a gorgeous saltwater infinity pool with local crabs sitting around the edges, a small gym, and free kayaks. Survivor Beach, where Australian Survivor 2017 was filmed, is a 15 minute walk away. Sa'Moana Resort is remote and secluded, ideal for privacy and getting away from crowds and the pace of modern life. There's no wifi, phone, or TV. It won't suit someone wanting a five star escape with spa treatments and gourmet meals, but it's a good fit for the adventurous. The drive takes about 20 minutes of slow four-wheel driving, so a car is advisable if you want to get out and about. It can also get quite windy. My only complaint was day visitors walking through our bungalow to reach the private beach, which let them look straight into our outdoor shower. They should be restricted so guests can keep their privacy. Otherwise, it's a fabulous place for a relaxing holiday.

Our family of 10 had the largest bungalow, and it worked really well for us. We had a private entrance to the beach, though there were rocks in the sea. If those could be removed, I'd give the place five stars. The location was lovely and peaceful, the restaurant suited my family, and the view from the deck was awesome. Listening to the waves at night was so calming. The cleaning staff did a great job, and the bungalow was spotless whenever we got back from outings. Thanks for making our stay enjoyable.

Survivor Beach is a highlight, about a 15-minute walk away, and the outdoor shower was great. We had no hot water for one day, though, and the bungalows felt average and weren't especially clean. The food was disappointing and expensive. It's a very rustic place, which could suit you if that's what you're after. Getting there is the hard part: the road is more like a rough goat track, unsealed and full of potholes, so a 4WD may be a good idea.

Lovely bungalow, really tasty food, and a very nice owner. We had a great time here.

The coastline is beautiful and remote, with scenic walks, clear water, and a reef that's about average for the area. There’s a small giant clam sanctuary a short drive away. We didn't see many clams, but it was a nice swim. With just nine bungalows, the place stays quiet. The rustic saltwater infinity pool looks out over an untouched stretch of coast, and our accommodation was clean and practical. The staff were friendly, too. The view of coconut palms and open ocean was fantastic. There’s a good bar and dining area, although the food felt pricey for its quality. I loved how far off the beaten track it was. Make some time to stay here.
