Hotel Real

For the price, it was quite good. I wasn't expecting a five-star hotel, but it turned out great. The staff were polite and helpful, and the rooms were clean. I'd recommend it to anyone needing a night in the city.

Basic, friendly, and a few things to put up with. The bed is nice, though the heating by the head of it gets annoying. The windows reduce noise, but I had to leave them open because smoke from the other smoking rooms came into mine. Breakfast is generous but the same every day. By friendly, I mean the staff. They're nice people, but don't rely on them to arrange a taxi if you need to leave very early. Mine would probably be 15 minutes late. At least they offered me a cup of coffee while I waited.

The room had a bad smell, was dirty, and the furniture looked heavily used. The bed was very uncomfortable. When we arrived, the toilet wasn't working, though reception fixed it after we reported it. The air conditioner smelled awful, and everything, including the blankets and a cigarette-burnt pillow, smelled of cigarettes. The furniture was arranged so awkwardly that getting onto the balcony was almost impossible. Breakfast was average at best, and we couldn't choose: we were just given a small omelette, bread, butter, cheese, honey, and jam. The Wi-Fi worked, and the staff were nice. The hotel served its purpose, but I wouldn't stay there again.

There's a good selection of restaurants and cafes right across the street, and the main walking street is about a 10-minute walk away. The hotel is standard and very close to Newborn and Ministeries. Breakfast had eggs, cheese, olives, and banana. If you smoke, a room with a balcony is a good option.
