At The Sea Ballito

The included housekeeping was a lovely surprise, especially for an Airbnb. The place stayed spotless, the coffee sachets were kept topped up, and we never had to worry about a thing. Everything felt easy and relaxing, and we were well looked after. We stayed at At The Sea a week ago, and it was such a great experience. The space felt warm and cozy, like a home away from home, and the location is stunning, right by the beach. Alex, who lives on the premises, welcomed us and made a real difference. He was professional, capable and clearly cared about making sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. I definitely recommend At The Sea for a peaceful beachfront break with great hospitality. We'll absolutely be back!

My laptop and shoes were taken from the room. The landlord said the room had been left open and refused to take responsibility for the missing things. She was rude and offered no help, and said she would fine guests for anything she disliked. I wouldn’t feel comfortable trusting this place with my belongings on holiday.

The service was awful, and I wouldn’t stay here again. The owner lives on site and, to me, it felt like she could hear our conversations in the room. There are dogs on the property too, and one nearly bit me as I walked to my car. I followed the smoking rules and stood outside, but the owner still accused me of smoking in the room. At 1 a.m. she came to my door, swore at me, and demanded a R1000 fine. I also found out the hard way that the advertised heated pool wasn’t as described. It felt like a waste of money and gave Ballito a bad name.

We only stayed one night, despite booking two. The room was a converted garage, with no air conditioning and a fan blowing from the kitchen area, so it became unbearably hot. Its position beside the car park also meant arriving and departing guests could look straight into the room. When we arrived, the host simply waved us over to Themba, the helper. There was no proper welcome or greeting.
