Frinton on Sea 3

It was a quiet, lovely spot, very clean, with a beautiful sea view, and things went well until we were accused of burning the couch. Nobody in our group smoked indoors or outdoors, and we had our braai outside. I think this may be a way to get our security deposit. Please inspect properly and take photos of everything.

My family and I had a great week at Unit 4, Frinton on Sea, and we’d happily return. Google Maps seems to show only number 8 for this location, so this review is for Unit 4. It’s close to several beaches, with rock pools nearby that kids or adults can explore. There are also several convenient grocery stores close by, all in great condition. The unit has the main amenities, including an inverter for loadshedding, comfortable rooms, aircon and fans. It’s child-friendly too, with a toy box full of beach toys and board games. Daily room service was brilliant, thanks Thandi and Thembi. A couple of things could be improved: there was very little kitchen cutlery, just five teaspoons for a unit that sleeps eight, not counting infants, and the spatulas were tiny and barely useful for cooking. So even with daily service, we often had to wash cutlery. There were also minor maintenance problems: some windows wouldn’t open, one corroded handle snapped in my father-in-law’s hand, and a cupboard door above the stove had come off its hinges. Those issues didn’t spoil our stay. Definitely recommend it.

The sea views are unreal, the kind you could watch for days. The complex is right by the boardwalk, and it’s handy to park right in front of your flat instead of having to walk a long way.

Charlotte, the manager, is on the ball. It’s a very nice place to stay, and I’ll definitely come back.
