Villa Med is really a residential complex, rather than a hotel or holiday apartment building. While some owners may host visitors, most people seem to live there permanently. The apartments are a good size and thoughtfully laid out. There’s plenty of space and parking, the grounds are well kept, and the large trees add shade and look lovely. It’s close to amenities and an easy walk to the beach, with security on duty at the gated entrance.

There’s no sea view, but the peaceful setting makes up for that, and it seems to be mostly permanent residents rather than holiday lets. The apartments are priced well compared with sea-view complexes, especially the units under 2 million Rand's. The gardens are looked after and there are two great pools. It’s about a five-minute walk to the sea, next to the caravan park, and Checkers and STEPS centre are a short walk away. The area is calm, with very little traffic noise.

We spent a weekend at Villa Med 28 with the family and loved it. The balcony looks out over beautiful trees, which made it such a relaxing place to sit. Inside, the design is lovely, and the apartment was clean and elegant. The pool was fantastic and always clean, the cleaning service was a great touch, and the residents were genuinely friendly. I could say more, but this place felt like paradise. I’d happily recommend it to a family looking for a luxury holiday stay.

The mildew smell in Villa med 05 was awful. We ended up spending as much time as possible outside the apartment each day, so we couldn’t properly relax during our holiday.

The flat was clean and nicely arranged, and the host made us feel welcome. It’s a short walk to the beach, and the location felt safe and secure.
