We stayed here overnight while attending Campfest. It worked really well for us: there was water and a spot to wash the car before the show. Communication was good, breakfast was nice, parking felt safe, and the area was good too.

While my son was at a rugby tournament, we spent the weekend at De Kunst Huisje Guesthouse. Alta and her staff were so friendly and helpful, and made us feel right at home. It has a peaceful, homely feel, with lovely decor and attention to detail. The rooms are spacious, spotless and beautifully decorated, with very comfortable beds. After a busy day, the clean swimming pool was great for relaxing, and I appreciated the safe parking. I’d happily recommend the guesthouse and will stay again on our next visit to Bela Bela.

Juline and Pieter were amazing hosts. Thank you for such a lovely weekend away. We stayed from 13-15 February 2026, and were stunned by how clean the rooms were. The decor in and around them was beautiful, and breakfast was lovely. You’ll definitely see us again.

The friendly staff couldn’t make up for a room that fell short of expectations. It wasn’t worth the price for a single night, especially with better quality and more affordable places nearby. I wouldn’t recommend staying here in its current state. There were spiders and cobwebs throughout the room, especially in the bathroom. The bathroom has no door, and the toilet sits inside a little closet whose door can’t be closed when you use it, regardless of your height. There’s a tub but no shower, so remember to shut all the blinds while bathing or changing. The shampoo and shower gel bottles were half empty or used. The small TV is mounted too high at an awkward angle, making it almost impossible to watch. Random noises at night could wake a light sleeper. Brenton Nair

Alta is a lovely host, and the location is great. There was plenty of hot water, and the towels and linen were clean. Still, the rooms are in poor condition and need serious maintenance and TLC, so it’s bad value for money. Their two dogs bark endlessly for no reason and woke us several times. The back door lock doesn’t work from the inside at night, which meant we didn’t feel completely safe.
