The bed was much too hard for me and made it harder to feel comfortable, even though the room itself was spacious. For a quiet weekend, Hoogland Spa Family Resort is a decent choice. Its location is handy, close to shops and a short walk from Forever Resort, and the self-catering setup works well with a SPAR about five minutes away.

Alex the Gardener was the one person who really helped make our stay more comfortable. He was always on top of things and helpful, and honestly seems better suited to running the resort. The receptionist, on the other hand, seemed unqualified to manage the place or enforce the rules, and was drinking while on duty. The cleaning lady rushed through her work and only did half of it. We had some peace on the first day, but from the second day there was constant music and no respect from anyone at hoogland spa. Drunk people knocked on our door in the middle of the night, and there was no regard for privacy. I messaged the owner on WhatsApp and got no reply, which made it feel like they only care about the money. We came for four days and won’t ever return to Hoogland spa. It was pathetic and a waste of money. There are much better places in Bela Bela. The reception was OK, but the whole place is run very unprofessionally.

The family house was lovely, clean, and in a great spot. We had a sad end to an otherwise fantastic stay: our six-year-old had put his favorite jacket in the wardrobe after we packed for checkout, and we forgot it. When we called, they said they couldn’t find it, which was really disappointing.

The massage was phenomenal, and I had a great experience. Parking was quite inconvenient, though. I hope they can improve it.
