The reception staff were excellent, professional, efficient, and took the time to explain everything. Getting to them, though, was a frustrating mess. We’d booked a home, but at the gate the entrance was so narrow that we had to drive our bakkie over the cones to get through. The gate staff didn’t explain how check-in worked and seemed to want to move us along as fast as possible. We weren’t told where our unit was, so we drove around in circles looking for it. When we finally got there, there were no keys. We had to go all the way back to the gate, where we were told to find reception, then ask where reception was because nobody had given us directions. It was another 10-minute drive away. By the time we were checked in, we were already upset and frustrated, which is a terrible way to start a weekend break. The gate staff came across as disorganized, unprofessional, and unhelpful. They need better training, especially since this is the first impression for new visitors. 😒😡

We had a fantastic weekend with our family, but we’re still waiting for money owed to us. It’s been almost three months since a shop transaction came out of our account, even though we were told it should be refunded the next day. We’ve sent everything required and made numerous calls and emails to Hanelie Strydom and Gift at the shop. Nobody has got back to us or issued the refund, and it doesn’t seem to be a priority. They’re very welcoming when it’s time to take your money during booking, though. Please be careful before buying anything there.

Sondela gave us a wonderful weekend. We had a clean, well equipped chalet, nice swimming pools, fun entertainment, and beautiful wildlife. The staff were good and friendly too.

I LWAYS BOOK Acacia 208. It’s tucked under lots of trees, and animals are always visiting the chalet. The Boma is amazing, and there are aircons throughout the unit, which makes the stay really pleasant.
