We chose this place to be near the running race startline, but it turned out to be party central. The music was thumping and seemed set to go on all night. Our room looked nothing like the photos on the booking platform. It was the kind of room you'd rent by the hour, so it wasn't suitable for what we needed. We expected peace and quiet based on the lodge's location and beautiful pictures, but the ads misrepresent the place. They said there were no refunds, but asked us to let them know if we wouldn't stay so they could rent the room to someone else. That would effectively get them double the room price, while still refusing a refund.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and you can tell the place was built with pride. These days, though, upkeep seems to be low on the list: torn bedding, loose taps and cracked tiles. There was no fridge in the room, which wasn't a dealbreaker. A proper deep clean would make me consider coming back.

We went on February 28 to celebrate my birthday, but were turned away and told the place was full, even as people were leaving. We had to make plans at the last minute, and the gate staff were really rude.

We were told we'd get our money back after their plans fell through, but days have passed and we're still waiting. Some people seem to have received refunds, while we're being given excuses. This was a terrible first experience, and the way they handled it felt crooked and very unprofessional.

Parking wasn't prioritised for overnight guests, and the noise made it hard to get any peace. Paid day visits are allowed, which seems to add to the problem. Save your money if you're after a quiet stay. If you want to party, go and drown yourself! 🤦🏾
