We had freshly cooked wraps in the evening and enjoyed them, and breakfast the next morning had lots to choose from, including fruit, cereal, yogurt and cooked food. It cost R130. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive, and the site felt very secure. Our room was clean and well furnished, with a good sized corner shower, and the internet was quick. The hotel is right by Bloemfontein airport, about an 8 minute walk along the pavement. I saw some bad reviews, but it seemed to me they may have refurbished and made changes. I've attached photos of the walkway to the airport.

The pool gave us a place to relax and spend time together, and helped ease our nerves before the competition. I was there with college students representing the Western Cape at a South African arts competition, taking part in dance, fine arts, drama and other disciplines. Road Lodge felt safe and welcoming, which helped us feel at ease and perform our best. I was vegetarian then, and the chefs made sure I had tasty meals every day. The food was exceptional. Staff were friendly, attentive and well organized throughout our stay. Our rooms were spacious, and the beds comfortable for getting some rest. I'd recommend Road Lodge, especially for groups and teams traveling for events or competitions. The hospitality and safe atmosphere made our stay a good one.

When potholes slashed two of our tyres, Riaan Loots went out of his way to help us get the car fixed and put us at ease during a stressful time. Thanks for being so kind and friendly. The night shift staff also tried to find details for a tyre place. All of you are an asset to the business, and I hope you get the support you deserve. You're a great example to the rest of us.

The breakfast buffet had a good range and was tasty, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The location is great for the airport. In house dining could be better, and it would be nice to have complimentary water in the rooms.

The shower is tiny, and they don't change the linen. I was booked from the 28th through the 31st, and breakfast ended at 09:00. I arrived at 08:59, but Sandile told us it was already closed. Worst place to stay.
