It’s a beautiful place. It would be nice if they provided fresh milk, since not everyone likes creamer.

I booked through Booking.com to stay one night on 18 January 2025 and paid on the 15th, on time. Then, at midnight on the 17th, while I was already on the way and counting on having somewhere to sleep, they cancelled because of water disruptions and told me to cancel for a full refund. I had to make a last-minute reservation elsewhere, which meant unnecessary costs and stress after travelling more than 600 kilometers. I had no idea where I’d sleep or how expensive a last-minute booking might be. It has now been two months and I still haven’t received my money. I’ve called a thousand times and keep getting different stories from different people. The last straw was the supposed Manager, who called on Saturday 22nd March after I’d complained two days earlier and said the accounting department had paid the refund, so I should check my account. On Monday 24th there was still nothing. I called around midday for POP, which she promised to send, but nothing came. Four hours later I called again, and she wouldn’t come to the phone. It’s sad to say that the people here are unprofessional, disorganized and dishonest. I’ve spent two full months chasing my own money as if I’m borrowing it. I’ll never consider this place again.

We felt at home in the room, which had everything they’d promised: an electric blanket, heater, microwave, fridge and other things. I stayed three nights with a friend, and the service was great from our first booking enquiry through check-in. The guy was really friendly and efficient. We’d definitely go there again next time we’re in bloem. Keep up the great service 🙏

The dirty sheets on the first day were a bad start. The shower was nice, but water got all over the house place, and the blinds didn’t close fully, so I didn’t feel there was privacy in the room. I’d booked the jacuzzi for two, and the lady said Saturday at 12:00 was available. I explained we had to drive home that day, but she said noon was the only time. We waited around and came back to the lodge at 12:00. The receptionist was with two people and told me she’d booked another couple for the spa at the same time. She said they’d speak to that couple and told me to wait outside for five minutes. I did, but she didn’t come back. When I went in, no one was at reception. My husband asked if the lady was running away, since I was standing there without help and he kept checking the time because we had to drive back. After a few minutes, another lady came by and asked if we’d been helped. I explained what happened, and she told me to check WhatsApp for a reply. They said they’d have to move my booking to 13:00. We couldn’t wait any longer, and after the mix-up we worried they might get it wrong again. It felt like unfair treatment. They couldn’t face me and replied on WhatsApp instead.
