Our stay at this guest house was extremely disappointing. The pool was dirty, the yard was poorly maintained, and the whole place looked uncared for. The customer service was unacceptable and far below what we expected. In particular, Hester Roodt communicated in a very rude and unprofessional way. Her behaviour made us feel uncomfortable and disrespected, and came across as discriminatory. We are very unhappy with how the situation was handled. We had paid before arrival without knowing our friends had already booked accommodation for us. As soon as we realized the mistake, we asked for a refund, but it was refused.

The location worked well for us, and we could get orders delivered for free from the city centre. Breakfast was very good, the rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly. I also liked the clean pool and the privacy of the compound, though it could use more chairs nearby. Netflix on the TV needs to be easier to access.

The room was nice and the location was great, but a few basic things were missing. A broken or missing window had plastic over it, the shower needs a shelf so things don't have to sit on the floor, and we arrived to find only half a toilet roll with no spare. At check-in we were offered breakfast for an extra charge and declined, planning to eat out. At checkout, though, the invoice showed bed and breakfast had already been paid for. We should have checked, but the staff member checking us in could have known that. After being shown our room, we went back to the car for our luggage. Four staff were at reception on their phones, and nobody offered to help my wife or me. It gave the impression they were ready to go home. My wife also asked on WhatsApp at 7am whether they might have a hairdryer. The reply came much later that day, after we had checked out. We won't stay again and would rather try somewhere else. Good luck to them.

We arrived for our overnight stay on 14 September 2024 and found BOUTIQUE@MILNER closed, with nobody there to let us in despite ringing the bell repeatedly. I had booked and received confirmation on 31 March 2024. When I called the number on the reservation, a woman from another establishment answered. She said the owner of BOUTIQUE@MILNER was out of town and couldn't accommodate guests. Even after I gave her our confirmation number and Booking.com receipt, she repeated that we couldn't stay there and would have to go to her place and pay, since we hadn't booked with them. We had to find somewhere else and pay an extra R850.00 for the night. Since I had already paid BOUTIQUE@MILNER, I ended up paying twice for one night's accommodation. I believe Booking.com should take action against the owner of BOUTIQUE@MILNER GUESTHOUSE for this unprofessional and unethical conduct.
