The cleaners were the only bright spot. The floors were broken, the accommodation was mediocre, and both the receptionist and the male “manager” had a horrible attitude from check-in onward. Breakfast had been paid for and ordered before 09h00am, but at 09h10 the receptionist said we couldn’t eat it because service runs from 07h00 to 09h00. Save your time and money. These people shouldn’t be in hospitality.

I spent Tuesday, 28 October 2025 to Friday, 31 October 2025 at Victorian Lodge and was impressed with the whole stay. Eugene and his team were professional and friendly, and they took care of every request I made. If I’m back in Bloemfontein, I’ll stay at Victorian Lodge again.

The room was decent for what it cost, with a fridge and microwave, though nothing fancy. It had a big bed and good aircon, and the staff were very friendly. They kept things clean and treated my belongings respectfully.

We had a good rest, then enjoyed the continental breakfast that came with the price. The lodge was fully booked that night, but the service still felt attentive. Later, while we were heading back, they called to say we’d left our iPad behind. The owner, Eugene, couriered it to me, which says a lot about the good people still out there. Our room had a double bed, small fridge, coffee bay, shower, and toilet, and the price was reasonable. There was also outdoor seating to relax, and parking inside the property helped us feel at ease. The place was clean throughout. We were welcomed warmly by professional, trustworthy staff who showed us to our rooms straight away.
