The setting at Wildekrans Country House is gorgeous, with beautiful natural surroundings and lush gardens our four-year-old loved running around and exploring. The cottage was really comfortable and thoughtfully appointed, and felt like a home away from home. Alison and the team were warm, welcoming and attentive. We were greeted with tea and delicious carrot cake after our journey, and breakfast each morning was fresh, generous and delicious too. The artwork throughout adds so much character. It all felt peaceful, refined and restorative. We didn’t get to explore the trails this time, but we’ll definitely be back. I wish we could have seen more.

We spent four nights in the house, surrounded by beautiful gardens in an idyllic setting. It’s full of history, and Rosie deserves a special mention for cooking and presenting the most delicious meals. A beautiful way to begin 2026.

My wife Jenny, our families and I had a wonderful four days over Christmas at Wilderkrans, with three granddaughters along. We were lucky with the weather, enjoyed the walks and pool, and the catering was superb. It was a pleasure not to think about social media or TV for a while. Many thanks to everyone.

The mountain views and big, interesting garden made the setting especially lovely. We found Wildekrans while looking for a weekend stay in the Elgin Valley, and the house had such a homely feel and real character. The hospitality was excellent too. Wish we’d booked a few more nights.

Alison and her team welcomed our group of 20 ladies at the foot of the mountain and looked after us so well. The beautiful home is filled with art, and the gardens are award-winning. Such a memorable trip, it felt like the perfect country house.
