We booked well ahead for a wedding, then found out shortly before it that our reservation was no longer confirmed. Nobody contacted us or gave us a heads-up. The alternative place they suggested didn't look up to scratch, and with so few options in Caledon, that was really poor. Not a good experience.
We had a super weekend, and Haneke deserves a thank you for that. The owners were helpful and really friendly, while still giving us privacy. The facilities were wonderful, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable.
The room itself was nice, but the rest made it hard to recommend. The Wi-Fi didn't work, the jacuzzi was out of order, and there was no security in place. We also had to share a TV with other guests. It didn't feel prepared for visitors or much like a guest house.
My husband and I had a lovely stay, and the owner made us feel very welcome. The service was amazing. I do think each room should have its own TV with DStv.
The place was far too expensive for what we got, and didn't match the advert. Most of the so-called amenities were broken or unavailable. The kitchen couldn't be used at all, and a lot of things, including the bath, were filthy. I could go on for ages.
