129 on Kloof Nek Apartments

Arndt and Constanze were so friendly and helpful, especially when we had special requests. We felt safe and well cared for, and the area around the accommodation is beautiful. There’s a garage available if you have a car, and Uber can get you around otherwise. The pool area was fantastic, the bathrooms were clean, and the decor was tasteful. We loved the incredible views over Cape Town and Table Mountain, and getting to either the mountain or the city was quick. I’d absolutely recommend staying here for a memorable Cape Town trip.

The pool listing gives the wrong impression, it isn’t private and is shared with guests in the other apartment. We also had a terrible experience with the hosts, who were rude and intrusive. When it was over 40 degrees outside, they didn’t help us with the aircon. One of them came into the apartment and scolded my mother for hanging clothes out to dry, as if she were a child. We’d spent a month traveling around South Africa and had stayed in lovely places with great hosts, so this was especially disappointing. They just seem interested in making money, and I wouldn’t recommend this place. I expect they’ll reply calling me a liar and claim I never stayed here, as they do with other bad reviews. I have photos proving I was here.

We felt at home right away, thanks to Arndt and Constanze. They helped with questions, planned day trips and restaurant visits, and made us feel so welcome. The view is fantastic, and the pool in the lovely, well-kept garden was a real bonus on hot South African days. Thank you, Asmus Family! We spent a whole week at 129 on Kloof nek, and it was the highlight of our time in Cape Town. The modern apartment is beautifully furnished, with large rooms and a big, well-equipped kitchen. It’s near the city centre but still feels calm and private, and the outdoor barbecue makes it comfortable for a longer stay. The friendly housekeeping staff had our washing done in a day. We had the best time and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Cape Town area.

As a local, I can say this is the spot to choose in Cape Town. The rooms are beautiful, the location is perfect, and Arndt and Constanze are world-class hosts who always go the extra mile. We had wonderful hospitality and a fantastic stay.
