I need to update my review because the deposit handling has been incredibly questionable. There was no damage to my apartment, and my booking confirmation said the deposit would be refunded within 7 days. They didn’t initiate the refund after that; I had to track them down and give them my bank details. When I followed up, the stated wait somehow changed to 14 days, even though it was already 18 days after checkout. At 24 days, I still hadn’t received the deposit. The location is excellent, almost as close to the beach as you can get in the area. The rooms are exactly as advertised, with standard 3-star furniture and finishes of good quality. I stayed in a second-floor penthouse room, where the sea-facing balcony was a great spot. There’s no restaurant on site, but shops are nearby, and tea and coffee are provided in the rooms. My room had a two-plate stove, bar fridge, kettle, microwave, a bedroom ceiling fan, and air conditioning in the living area.

We’re still waiting for our refund, and I don’t know why they’re holding everyone’s money for so long. There are various complaints about this online. The apartment’s location was amazing, but the inside could use an upgrade, especially the bathroom. Even a few basics for one night, like dishwashing liquid, would have been great.

I checked out on the 1st of May, and it’s now the 25th with my R1000 deposit still not returned. Leisure bay apartments, you’ll have to explain yourselves, because waiting 14 working days is really too much. I’m coming to collect my deposit.

We only stayed one night, and I was surprised to find that parking costs R50 per parking per day, which they hadn’t mentioned. We stayed over on 12 March 2026, and it’s now the 6th of May 2026, but our deposit still hasn’t been refunded. They say it takes only 14 days. After I asked about it, they sent proof of payment, yet 5days later the money still isn’t in my bank account. Meanwhile, it’s concerning how many people say they’ve waited months for a deposit refund. Fraudulent???
