AC Hotel by Marriott Cape Town Waterfront

We loved the views of Table Moutain and Lion's Head from both our room and the pool area, and would happily stay again when we return to Cape Town. It’s easy to get an Uber, or you can walk about 25 minutes to the waterfront. There’s also a van shuttle, plus tickets for the canal boat behind the property, which goes to the waterfront. The staff were kind, caring, and welcoming. Rooms are a good size, with large bathrooms, and the buffet breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend.

I’ve stayed here a few times, and it’s still my favorite hotel in Cape Town. The rooms are consistently comfortable, and getting to the waterfront on foot has become easier, though Uber is still an easy option. One drawback is the daytime noise from staff. Twice, after long flights, I heard cleaning staff playing music loudly or shouting right outside my door while working in other rooms. If you want to sleep after a long flight, plan to arrive in the evening.

The breakfast was a highlight, with a great buffet selection as well as an alacarte menu, and the service was excellent despite how busy it was. Our room was comfortable and modern, with a stunning view of table mountain, and the outdoor pool also had lovely views. Parking in the hotel basement was easy. Genevieve and Anthony welcomed us warmly and gave us an early check-in, which we really appreciated. The hotel is near the convention centre, with complimentary shuttles to the nearby waterfront. A fabulous base for exploring Cape Town and the waterfront area.

The friendly breakfast greetings from the staff were a highlight of our week and a lovely example of South African hospitality. Our room was clean, lovely, and spacious for our family of three. As our last day approaches, we’re grateful for a wonderful stay and look forward to coming back.
