Breakfast around the long table with the other guests was a lovely way to start each day. Joey and John made our stay feel special, and the owner created such a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that we felt at home from day one. Our room was lovely, with a balcony and air conditioning. The guesthouse is right by the beach, and Cape Town centre is only about a 25-minute drive away.

Breakfast was delicious and there was more than enough. From the guesthouse, it’s an easy walk to Sunset Beach, and there’s secure parking if you’re driving. The pool area is relaxing too. Joey, the owner, is so welcoming and goes out of her way to help, as does the staff. Our sea-view room was spacious and lovely, with lots of cupboard storage, air conditioning, a hairdryer and a safe. The bed was really comfortable, and the linen was crisp and clean. We’d definitely recommend Atlantic Waves and will be back.

That breakfast is so generous you might come home heavier. Joey spoiled my husband, and she’s also a wonderful host with plenty of useful tips about the area. The staff were discreet, quick and excellent. Our room was spacious and spotless, and the pool was clean. The beach is just steps away, which makes this a great spot for watersports. We had such a lovely stay and already miss it.

It’s a peaceful, beautiful place, and definitely not a party house. Joey, the owner, is friendly but keeps things in order. Breakfast was delicious, and the outdoor area is lovely. The beach is only a three-minute walk away.
